Gift Ideas: When to Give a Hostess Gift
Invitations piling up? Your next few months are now filled with party invitations, weddings, bridal showers and family get-togethers. With so many people to see and parties to attend, you may be wondering when to give a hostess gift.

What is a Hostess Gift?

A hostess gift is a way to express your gratitude for an invitation to an event or party.

How to Give a Hostess Gift?

A hostess gift should be thoughtful and match the occasion. Does your host love red wine? Bring them your favorite bottle with a small note about why you chose it. Does your host love the smell of the ocean? Bring a candle that smells like your favorite beach town. Hostess gifts should be given upon arrival if greeted by the host. If not, slip it to the side and offer it at the end. It’s always a good idea to look someone in the eyes and say thank you.

Lilly Pulitzer

It all started with a juice stand…
When 21-year old Lilly eloped with Peter Pulitzer, they escaped the hustle and bustle of New York City for the sun and sand of Palm Beach

In the shadow of Peter's citrus groves, Lilly opened a juice stand. To disguise the juice stains on her clothing, she had a sleeveless dress made from colorfully-printed cotton.
