Introducing: “Pinking Positive,” a Lilly Pulitzer Print with Purpose in Support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Introducing: “Pinking Positive,” a Lilly Pulitzer Print with Purpose in Support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Lilly Pulitzer once said, “If you haven’t any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.” The Lilly Pulitzer brand proudly carries on Lilly Pulitzer’s legacy of giving & supporting women with their Prints with Purpose charitable giving program, collaborating with world-class charities and non-profit organizations who are working to make the world a sunnier place.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are proud to introduce: “Pinking Positive” a Lilly Pulitzer Print with Purpose in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). This print was hand painted in the Lilly Pulitzer print studio and inspired by sisterhood, friendship, and the support that women give to one another when going through a difficult time. The styles in this collection are designed to give you a reason to reach out, show your support, and let someone know that you are “Pinking Positive” for them. As a direct contribution in support of this Print with Purpose, Lilly Pulitzer is donating $22,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation this year, funding over 400 of critical research hours in the lab.

Early access to “Pinking Positive” is available in-stores tomorrow, September 28th. While all stores will be launching this collection early, you can join us at the below locations for sips, sweets, photo booths and more. All store locations will have a special card that you will be gifted upon arrival. The goal of this special card is to send “Pinking Positive” wishes to a loved one going through a difficult time.

Join over 30+ of our Signature Store locations on October 5th as they participate in the Pink Lemonade Stand Challenge, a national initiative challenging individuals, families and companies to make their own pink lemonade stands to raise money for breast cancer research. 100% of donations from the juice stand will go to BCRF. Call your local store for participation info and #MakeAStand.

Our friends at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation want you to know you’re not alone, and they also want you to know the facts. Take a look at BCRF’s five common mammogram MythBusters.

5 Mammogram MythBusters: TRUE OR FALSE

Mammograms don’t help: False. Regular mammograms are the best tests doctors have to find breast cancer early, sometimes up to three years before it can be felt.

Mammograms cause cancer: False. Mammograms utilize very small doses of radiation – it’s like getting an x-ray.

Mammograms are inaccurate: False. Although they are not perfect, mammograms are the best tool we have in early detection.

Mammograms are painful: False. Everyone’s pain threshold is different, but the compression involved in a mammogram is often described as temporary discomfort.

You don’t need regular mammograms if you lead a healthy lifestyle: False. It is important to have regular and routine screenings as an integral part of living a healthy lifestyle. Speak to your doctor on when you should consider having annual mammograms, as the age you start getting them might vary depending on your family history.

“Pinking Positive,” a Lilly Pulitzer Print with Purpose in Support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is available in-store on September 28th, and everywhere October 1st.

Lilly Pulitzer

It all started with a juice stand…
When 21-year old Lilly eloped with Peter Pulitzer, they escaped the hustle and bustle of New York City for the sun and sand of Palm Beach

In the shadow of Peter's citrus groves, Lilly opened a juice stand. To disguise the juice stains on her clothing, she had a sleeveless dress made from colorfully-printed cotton.
