A Palm Beach local and the granddaughter of Lilly Pulitzer, Lilly Leas Ferreira grew up immersed in the sunny, vibrant island lifestyle we know and love. With a degree in finance, Lilly followed in her grandmother’s entrepreneurial footsteps by launching, growing, and selling her first company. Today, as a mother of two, award-winning realtor, and consultant for the Lilly Pulitzer brand, Little Lilly—as she’s lovingly called—is carrying on the family traditions and making her own rules along the way. What values do you hope to pass to your children?

Courage, kindness, and a love for adventure. I hope they discover the excitement and joy in the unkonwn. Take the leap. Host the party. Apply for the job. Dive in. Find the courage to be exactly who they want to be and the compassion to inspire others to do the same.

As a working mom, how do you prioritize taking a “mom-ent” for yourself?

My cup fills up when I’m spending time with family, friends, or playing outside. Rather than trying to be in three places at once, I love when my worlds collide. So, we’re all going to the beach. Everyone’s invited. Bring the dogs and kids. Oranges on a stick all around.

Is there a mantra that you connect with as a mother?

Be a model, not a martyr. Motherhood and sacrifice are intimately intertwined, but I try to remember that losing my own sense of self would be a disservice to the strong, independent women we’re hoping to raise. Actions inspire and empower through example.

Imagine your perfect Mother’s Day…what’s on the agenda?

Banana pancakes in bed. The wonderful chaos of two kids and a dog running around the house. BLTs and iced team with Mom. A swim in the ocean. Backgammon and red wine with my husband once the kids are in bed.
