Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

After a career in marketing and communications, I became an interior designer five years ago. Buying my first home led to my growing interest in design. I still pinch myself that I'm participating in this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach, which is open to the public from March 5 to April 3, 2022. The Show House is major fundraiser for Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.

Was there a woman who inspired you when you were growing up? Who inspires you now?

My mother has always been inspiring. She's less outgoing than I am but, without much fanfare, she has achieved so much. Martha Stewart has also been a constant source of inspiration. I'm co-founder of design/build firm Damour Drake and her business model and marketing savvy are things I learn from all the time.

How does wearing Lilly Pulitzer make you feel?

I'm from Haiti, so Lilly Pulitzer’s colors and patterns remind me of home. I don't often get dressed up, but when I do, I love Lilly Pulitzer because it makes you feel feminine and definitely gets you noticed in a crowd!

When do you feel like your most authentic self?

I love to connect people. I started a nonprofit, Kingston Design Connection (www.kingstondesignconnection.com), to support collaboration and local development in the upstate New York design/build industry. One of our key programs is the annual Kingston Design Showhouse, which has connected over 500 professionals to date. Many past participants have started businesses together and regularly hire each other. We've also had a hand in continuing to bring national attention to the amazing design in the region. I'm excited that we’re doing our 5th annual showhouse this year!

How do you describe your design point of view?

To me, design is about reflecting yourself in your interiors (whether you're an individual or business). This creates a haven to relax, be inspired, and do whatever you choose.
