Pink Sands, Pool Days & Private Dinners: A Harbour Island Escape at Coral Sands Inn & Cottages

Our stay at Coral Sands Inn & Cottages began the moment we arrived and were welcomed into Brett’s Home, one of the two private residences named for the original owners. Morning on the Pink Sand Beach

Days start barefoot. We spent the morning stretched out on Harbour Island’s legendary pink sand beach, where the water shifts from pale aqua to the deepest turquoise and the sand glows softly in the sun. Whether floating in the shallows or lounging with a book, it’s the kind of place that reminds you why beach days are meant to be unhurried.

Afternoons by the Private Pool at Brett’s House

In the afternoon, we shifted into full unwind mode at the private pool at Brett’s Home. Tucked away and completely serene, the pool felt like our own personal oasis—cocktails in hand, sun hats on, island playlists going, and nowhere else to be. It was the perfect complement to the beach: a relaxed and carefree island afternoon.

Into Town: Straw Markets & Island Treasures

Later, we took a quick trip into Dunmore Town to wander the woven straw and souvenir markets. From handwoven bags to locally made keepsakes, it’s impossible to leave empty-handed. Each piece feels like a little slice of Harbour Island to bring home. We layered up colored puka shell necklaces and bracelets placed on hats to protect our skin from the sun and reveled in laughter while walking down dirt roads and discovering hidden treasures.

A Private Chef Dinner at Brett’s House

The highlight of the trip came that evening—a private chef dinner experience back at Brett’s Home. As the sun set, the house transformed into an intimate dining experience, filled with incredible food, wine, and the kind of moments you wish you could bottle. Dressed in our most colorful iconic island styles. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day—shared with friends around a table and dancing in the kitchen until the wee hours.
