A go-to gathering spot from midday through evening, perfect for cocktails and conversation. We hosted a watercolor class here with our in-house artist, and it’s easy to see why it’s a favorite. Pro tip: arrive early—it fills up fast.

Veranda Bar (Congress Hall)

For breezy drinks with a classic coastal feel, best enjoyed in the iconic rocking chairs.

Virginia Hotel Porch

Dining and drinks on the porch are a must. Ask for Leo, a beloved local bartender who’s part of the Cape May experience.

The Boiler Room (Congress Hall)

Head downstairs for late-night pizza, music, and dancing—an insider favorite for keeping the night going. From Mr. Cape May himself, Keegan McManus, shared why he and his siblings love this spot: "The Boiler Room at Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ has always balanced the nod to nostalgia while still keeping their menu refreshing and updated. Their brick oven pizzas will always be my fan favorite, as we've enjoyed them for decades. I look forward to trying the new menu additions this Summer as well like the Boiler Room Wings and Wagyu Cheesesteak!"

What to Do

Start your day with coffee and a stroll.

Spend the morning at Beach Plum Farm—shop the market, grab a breakfast sandwich, and say hello to the roaming chickens.

After the beach, stop by Beach Shack for a casual bite.

Take a walk through town to admire the historic Victorian homes, or book a guided tour to learn more about Cape May’s rich history.

Visit Cape May Point State Park for nature trails, birdwatching, and a climb up the lighthouse for sweeping views.

Take a dip in the ocean, then wind down with a sunset view.

Where to Shop 

Take a stroll along Washington Street Mall for shopping and local charm. 

Tommy’s Folly boutique is just steps away from Congress Hall, and is filled with chic accessories, gifts and apparel for men women and kids (including some incredible straw bags and jewelry—our favorite!)

For antiquing and vintage finds, check out West End Garage, which houses over 60 vendors under the same roof—plus coffee and sweet treats at Beach Plum Cafe in-store.
